Central Asian University welcomes transfer applicants who seek to continue their undergraduate studies at CAU. Transfer applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee through a comprehensive assessment of the applicant’s academic background, curriculum compatibility, English language proficiency, and availability of seats in the relevant program and year of study.
To be considered for transfer admission to CAU, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must have completed at least two regular semesters of study at their previous university or college. Each semester must be at least 15 weeks long.
Applicants must have no record of academic probation or disciplinary action at their previous educational institution.
Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency. Applicants to the Medical School and Dental School must hold a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or pass the University’s internal English proficiency examination at the required level. Applicants to all other schools must hold a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or pass the University’s internal English proficiency examination at the required level.
Applicants must submit all required documents through the University’s official online admission application form.
Required documents include:
- Passport with residence permit, where applicable;
- Official transcript from the previous university or college, translated into English and certified or sealed by the issuing institution;
- Official English proficiency test certificate, where applicable;
- Confirmation of good academic and disciplinary standing from the previous university;
- Course descriptions or syllabi for completed subjects, if requested by the Admissions Committee.
Documents must be submitted exclusively through the University’s official online admission application form:

Documents submitted by email, messaging applications, in hard copy, or through any other unofficial channel will not be accepted.
The Admissions Committee may request course descriptions or syllabi from the applicant’s previous studies to assess curriculum compatibility and determine the appropriate year of study placement. CAU does not guarantee direct transfer to the same year of study completed at the previous university. Final year-of-study placement depends on curriculum compatibility, seat availability, academic capacity, and the final decision of the Admissions Committee.
All transfer applicants are required to attend a mandatory interview, conducted in person or online. The interview assesses academic readiness, motivation, and English proficiency.
